
Williamston wins White volleyball

CORUNNA - William-ston's offensive onslaught was enough to carry the Hornets to victory in the CAAC White volleyball tournament on Saturday.
The Hornets defeated Lakewood in the final 25-17, 25-27, 25-23, 25-20.
Alexa Maser led Williamston with 32 assists in the final. Molly Maynard had 11 kills to go along with Danika Markell's 20 digs.
Williamston coach Erin Fralick said her team came together during the tournament and that chemistry led to victory.
"We played as a team today," Fralick said. "We played really well offensively, definitely a strong offense."
Lakewood and William-ston ended the season in a tie for first place.
* CAAC Gold: DeWitt defeated Fowlerville in five games (21-25, 25-22, 25-8, 20-25, 15-7) to take home the tournament championship.
* CAAC Red: Host Mason defeated Jackson Northwest in three games 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 to win the league title.
* CMAC: Kaila Cook's 19 kills led Potterville in its tournament final victory over Dansville.
Pewamo-Westphalia and Laingsburg finished tied for second overall in the league standings with Bath and the Aggies tied for fourth.
